Global Services

The Office of Business Practice Improvement (BPI), in collaboration with the Office of International Affairs (OIA) and the Global Health Institute (GHI), established an enhanced global services function at Emory. The mission of Global Services is to provide information, guidance, and administrative support for those conducting international work on behalf of Emory University.  It assists focused efforts, such as bringing a guest to the U.S. for a speaking engagement, as well as more complex ventures like establishing  a multi-year research project overseas. For this effort, we identified the University’s needs related to international operations, articulated potential and preferred solutions to meet these needs, and, in turn, constructed a business plan for implementing a global services function that makes the most sense for Emory. To do so, BPI drew on extensive input from faculty and staff as well as best practices from institutional peers.

The office formally launched in October 2014 with the naming of Chris Rapalje as its Director.
